Meet Pozuzo: An ideal destination for adventure tourism
Austro Cologne is the only German in the world, located in the heart of the Selva Central Valley vegetation for adventure lovers.
Pozuzo. The district is made up of descendants Pozuzo Austrian (Tyrolean), German (Rhenish and Bavarian), mestizos and Indians. It is located in the province of Oxapampa, Pasco Department in the Central Selva of Peru.
Pozuzo was the first settlement of its kind founded in 1859, four years after the Peruvian government granted them land. A 84 km north of the city of Oxapampa and 360 km from Cerro de Pasco.
Immigrants built the city following the architectural patterns of their original countries, so that the houses are made of geometric floors, hardwood floors and gabled roofs.
In memory of the settlers who came and lived in this beautiful town, is considered as cultural heritage area and historical and cultural center, representing Pozuzo place where you can visit:
Church-San Jose: It was the first church built by settlers in 1875. Some structures are made of wood, while others are made of stone, lime and fine material.
-Settlers Cemetery: Campo Santo where the remains of both the spiritual leader of the settlers, Father Joseph Egg, as parents and Francisco Luis Ipfelkofer Schafferer.
-Museum Schafferer: Place exhibiting, retain and value the ancient objects and belongings brought settlers to Pozuzo, such as tools, utensils, ceramics, photographs, wood furniture, etc..
