Promote domestic tourism and create a culture of travel among Peruvians are the objectives of the "What are you plans" by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) and PromPeru.
"What he wants (the campaign) is to educate our fellow citizens about what is important to travel, because as part of our training is to know people," said the head of Mincetur, José Luis Silva Martinot.
In that sense, the idea is that Peruvians see the weekend as an opportunity to go on a trip, and that they are not alone in planning special events such as long holidays.
The first part of this initiative has been dubbed "The heartbeat of the north and will run from November 9 to December 15. During that time travel will be promoted with a 50% discount to Tumbes, Amazonas, Cajamarca, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Loreto, Piura and San Martín.
