Europe, the second source of tourists to Peru
Despite the economic crisis suffered by the 'old continent', during the first half of the year, visitors from that part of the world increased by 13.8% compared to last year, and remains the second largest tourism the country, as stated by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru Export and Tourism (PromPeru).
"The French market, one of the largest in Europe, has grown steadily and, despite the crisis, they have not stopped coming to Peru because it is closely linked to historical and cultural issue," said Maria del Carmen de Reparaz, director of Tourism PromPerú.
He added that 85% of European tourists visiting Peru in search of experiences related to culture. "We can not forget that Peru is one of the six cradles of civilization in the world, which gives us a great chance to work that element as a selling tool," he said.
