Chavin culture sample pieces are brought in Switzerland
Culture Minister, Luis Alberto Peirano Falconi, opened last November 22 at the Museum Rietberg in Zurich, Switzerland, the exhibition 'Chavín: The enigmatic temple of the Peruvian Andes', which brings together some 200 ceramics, stone sculptures, reliefs , gold ornaments, pututos, terracotta pots and gargoyle heads.
This exhibition is part of a project to enhance the image of the ancient cultures of our country abroad. To make this possible it was supported by the Swiss Museum Rietberg, Zurich Canton, private sponsors, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture and the Ministry of Culture of Peru.
According to the Ministry of Culture, this is the first time that an exhibition of this nature is made abroad, so it is expected to attract Swiss and Europe. The exhibition runs until March 10, 2013.
