Machu Picchu Award take tourists "to other archaeological sites of
Machu Picchu "opens over the world" after winning the award for Best World Green target (green) at the World Travel Awards (WTA), said Fernando Astete, head of the archaeological park where the famous Inca citadel.
According to Astete, "Machu Picchu recognition motivates the tourists also take the opportunity to meet other tourist and archaeological areas of the country."
In statements to Andina, Astete stressed the need to engage people to care for and preserve the site, "as well as all estates that houses Peru."
This award is in addition to others obtained by Machu Picchu in the past, including being one of the new seven wonders of the world, according to a global vote promoted by the New 7 Wonders Foundation.
